About Torrevieja, Alicante and Costa Blanca
The town of Torrevieja and Costa Blanca (White Coast)  was pronounced by the World Health Organisation as the healthiest and best place to live, and have a healthy holiday. Most of the beaches in the area received the "Blue flag" (Bandera Azul) for their clear and clean water and facilities on the beaches itself.
Costa Blanca belongs to the most beautiful and attractive coast of Spain and is not completly discovered yet by a mass tourism. You will still find deserted beaches here, quite places to relax, and green valleys with tropical plants, mountains, picturesque landscapes, castle ruins, botanic parks and small, typical spanish villages and tiny towns in the interior.
The town of Torrevieja is a big coastal city, located between two huge salt lagoons and the sea from the south. Close by, there are mud baths , used for the therapeutic treatments like rheumatism and all kinds of skin diseases. The specific microclimate in Torrevieja is good for the people who suffer from asthma and cardiac deseases.
The water sports fans have great conditions for scuba diving and snorkelling with transparent waters. For the children there are  plentiful theme parks, like Terra Mitica and Terra Natura, and a couple of aquaparks in the area. For the ski lovers just 3hrs drive away heading south ,you will find a Sierra Nevada-one of the biggest Spanish ski resorts. The same day you can be on the ski slopes and on the beautiful beach.
